To win a Clam Chowder contest in New England must mean you’re doing something right.. Ron Dumas, owner of Uncle Ronnie’s Red Tavern in Nasonville, RI, took the top prize in 2006 when his white clam chowder was voted “Best in the Valley”, by the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Customers who have tried the chowder served daily at Uncle Ronnie’s Red Tavern - a down-home family restaurant that has been serving quality seafood, pasta dishes and Italian specialties, steaks, burgers, sandwiches and chicken and veal dishes since it opened almost years ago, keep coming back regularly for more.
“A good selection of Italian favorites, prime rib and seafood, reasonable prices, nice staff

The menu at Uncle Ronnie’s features a wide array of great selections, made only from the freshest and highest quality ingredients. The restaurant also offers a full catering service and banquet menu. When Ron and his wife, Paula, call Uncle Ronnie’s a family restaurant, they aren’t kidding. “We’re very family oriented.” says Paula Dumas. “We love to see parents coming in with their kids, and there’s always give-aways for the kids, whether it’s pumpkins in the fall, beach balls in the summer or kites, which we are giving away now.”
Ron Dumas has been in the restaurant business all his life. H worked 20 years at Lil & Gene’s Restaurant in Manville, RI, which is now run by his nephew, and then spent two years in the catering business. Ron and Paula also leased the kitchen at Blissful Meadows Country Club in Uxbridge, MA before deciding to open Uncle Ronnie’s Red Tavern nearly three years ago. The Dumas’ bought the restaurant in 2006 and it has been serving some of the best food in northern Rhode Island ever since.
